Discuss the Dramatic Devices Williams Uses in the Play to Suggest
Talk about the sensational gadgets Williams utilizes in the play to propose that Blanche is damned. A Streetcar Named Desire is a catastrophe that is not normal for a customary disaster in that the characters in it are not struck by some cataclysm or fall due to impulsive decisions on their part. Rather, we enter the play in the deferred post-quake tremors of a catastrophe that has come to pass for the fundamental character, Blanche, as she endeavors to clutch whatever leftovers of her lovely past she can, at the end of the day flops because of a blend of her past that gets up to speed to frequent her, and furthermore as a result of the unpleasant gave, sexist, and mercilessly realistic Stanley.Throughout the play, Williams insights and at last concretes that the crowd will see Blanche fall. This is done through a mix of imagery, character collaboration, melodic and sound-related prompts that anticipate Blancheââ¬â¢s extreme tumble from delightful to crazy. Blancheââ¬â¢s awful past is implied by Williams to crowds even in Scene 1 by the relationship of the names of the trolleys and spot that Stella and Stanley live in.In Scene 1, Blanche educates Eunice regarding how she got to Stella and Stanleyââ¬â¢s place; ââ¬Å"They instructed me to take a trolley named Desire, and afterward move to one called Cemeteries and ride six squares and get off at â⬠Elysian Fieldsâ⬠Blancheââ¬â¢s venture on New Orleansââ¬â¢ trolleys speaks to the excursion of her own life up to now. The trolley named want is a mention for the existence she lived after her late spouse, Allan, kicked the bucket. Blanche was an indiscriminate lady who engaged in sexual relations with arbitrary men for the shallow consideration she ached for. After, she moved to a trolley named Cemeteries, a name for a position of the dead. This mustââ¬â¢ve spoke to that piece of her life where she has been alienated by her old neighborhood of Laurel for her different undertakings, that presu mably disturbed the social and conjugal issues of those in the town. All things considered, that was the ââ¬Å"deathâ⬠of her season of ââ¬Å"desireâ⬠. At last, she shows up at Elysian Fields, Stella and Stanleyââ¬â¢s place. Elysian Fields is a position of Greek Mythology, a progress zone for the afterlife.Just as Blanche as ââ¬Å"diedâ⬠, she has gone to rest in Elysian Fields. In the legend, Elysian Fields was only a territory for spirits to go to before proceeding onward to their next stage in the hereafter. This by itself is sufficient to show that Williams hasnââ¬â¢t proposed for Blancheââ¬â¢s story to end in Elysian Fields. Blancheââ¬â¢s terrible past has adequately ââ¬Å"killedâ⬠her, and similarly as she should proceed onward from Elysian Fields according to fantasy, her past is because of find her and keep on unleashing ruin on her.Furthermore, we see Williamsââ¬â¢ utilization of the dim symbolism of ââ¬Å"Cemeteriesâ⬠and ââ¬Å" Elysian Fieldsâ⬠, rather than any increasingly brilliant pictures (state, ââ¬Å"Heavenâ⬠) to recommend that Blancheââ¬â¢s venture after Elysian Fields to be anything ruddy â⬠which is eventually the situation. Another way Williams shows that Blanche is bound to fate is through her outright juxtaposition to life in New Orleans. By demonstrating her as not having the option to adjust to and acknowledge life in the apparently adjusted and advancing New Orleans, Blanche is eventually bound to be something overlooked and deserted, similar to an old image of the Old South. From Scene 1, we see Blanche genuinely hanging out in the crude universe of New Orleans, from her striking white garments in the beautiful universe of New Orleans, and her sensitive portrayal of being a ââ¬Å"mothâ⬠. As the play disentangles, we see she can't adjust to any new circumstances New Orleans tosses at her. She never changes her high register discourse which distinctly differentiates Stan ley and crewââ¬â¢s pidgin English and she continually overlooks the spreading truth about her.Even her sister, who is of same foundation as her, can acknowledge the ââ¬Å"rougherâ⬠life in New Orleans, and this distinction is put across by when Stella enlightens Blanche regarding her and Stanleyââ¬â¢s wedding night. Stella is ââ¬Å"thrilledâ⬠by Stanleyââ¬â¢s primitive crushing of the lights, while Blanche is frightened by it. Clearly Stella has at any rate incompletely absorbed into New Orleans life, while Blanche never does as such all through the play. By clutching her wonderful dream of her previous existence, we see that Blanche sets herself up for fiasco by always being unable to split away from an earlier time and head forward into the future. Her juxtaposition in New Orleans till the finish of the play fills in as an update that she is a relic from the Old South and would never make due in the profoundly changing New Orleans, and is bound to cease to exis t with the old customs. Sound-related prompts in the play additionally fill in as an image as Blancheââ¬â¢s approaching calamity. The Varsouviana Polka shows up when Blanche is being gone up against with her past and reality, for example, when Mitch faces her about her actual age and reality with regards to her past. The polka represents debacle to Blanche, playing when she witness the horrendous demise of her significant other and at whatever point circumstances later on carry these sentiments of calamity to her. The Polka never leaves during the play, rather, we see that the polka is a common image in the play, indicating that debacle has followed Blanche to New Orleans and is influencing her in each feature of her new life there. For instance, in the scene where Mitch faces Blanche about her past, we see the Polka being misshaped, combined with what appear to be Blancheââ¬â¢s mind flights of the night Allan died. When Stanley gives Blanche the transport pass to return to Laur el, ââ¬Å"The Varsouviana music takes in delicately and proceeds playingâ⬠, which speaks to the catastrophe Blanche countenances should she return once more. All things considered, we see the Polka (and consequently, fiasco) never leaving her, rather speaking to the awful past crawling out on her, as it turns out to be increasingly misshaped and slanted all through the play, speaking to her confounded and breaking down perspective and bound destiny.Ultimately, the polka is likewise there to cooperate with her ruin, : where, ââ¬Å"The Varsouviana is separated into bizarre twisting, joined by the cries and clamors of the jungleâ⬠to represent the last pulverization of her humankind (the wilderness), and her crumbled mental wellbeing (the contortion). Other remarkable instances of music utilized in the play to speak to fate are melodies like Paper Moon, that Blanche herself sings. State itââ¬â¢s just a cardboard moon, cruising over a paper ocean, yet it wouldnââ¬â¢t b e pretend, on the off chance that you had confidence in me. Without your loveIt's a honky-tonk march Without your adoration It's a tune played in a penny arcade It's a Barnum and Bailey world Just as fake as it tends to be Paper Moon by Ella Fitzgerald, a melody about pretend and props for appear, is fittingly sung by Blanche, who this while has lived in her pretend universe of her previous magnificence. Such tunes surfacing in the play, particularly by the culprit herself concretes the plan to crowds that Blanche is in actuality a fake in her own right, and along these lines can't get by in the very ââ¬Å"realâ⬠universe of New Orleans. It is one more marker that Blanche can't and has not acknowledged the brutal future and truth of this life. It is very befitting to Blanche that the facts demonstrate that in the event that somebody accepted and genuinely adored her, she need not experience a pretend world, where she is as white and as excellent and as bogus as a paper moon. In that capacity, melodies like Paper Moon show crowds that Blanche epitomizes the individual who can't move from dream out to the real world, and is bound to live out in her dreamland where she resembles a paper moon â⬠a move that at last spells her craziness in the unforgiving genuine universe of New Orleans. The hinting of Blancheââ¬â¢s bound fate is likewise depicted through other minor characters activities. The Mexican blossom merchant, an old woman near death, sells blossoms for the dead, as though to foretell Blancheââ¬â¢s approaching ââ¬Å"deathâ⬠from the real world, while Shep Huntleighââ¬â¢s proceeded with nonattendance as Blancheââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"saviourâ⬠shows not just her frustrates about who she truly is currently as a lady, just as fill in as a suggestion to crowds that it appears to be nothing can cull Blanche out from her desperate circumstance in New Orleans.Blanche is stuck in New Orleans hopeless with the undeniably harsh Stanley, and no pr evious playmate can offer break. Williams indications from the earliest starting point of the play that Blanche is damned, yet it is occasions all through the play that signal her refusal and failure to move from dream to the real world, that concrete with crowds that Blanche has little any desire for being discharged from her predicament.A Streetcar Named Desire is covered with little yet amazingly noteworthy occasions to show that Blanche is as yet the paper moon she sings about, and along these lines prompts her definitive tumble from the pititful exterior of effortlessness we were acquainted with toward the beginning of the play, to the miserable condition of daydream she winds up in after New Orleans and the individuals in it can't took care of her dream any longer.

If the test samples contain Carbohydrates, then in the presence of Benedictââ¬â¢s color will turn to ââ¬Å"traffic light colorsâ⬠which consist or orange, red, yellow, and sometimes green. 3. If the test samples test positive for starches, then in the presence of Iodine, their colors if the test sample contains sugars, then the iodine will change from yellow-brown to blue-black. . If the test samples show the presence of lipids, the when the substance is placed onto a brown paper bag and sits for 10 minutes, then a translucent or opaque spot will appear. Your Career Essay Example For Students
Your Career Essay Business CommunicationTerm Paper ââ¬Å"Your Careerâ⬠July 20, 1999I do not know that anyone chooses a career in life. It seems that fate or certain outside forces influences the decisions you make in life. These forces change your life from one career to the next until you end up in your retirement years looking back on your life thinking of the ââ¬Å"what ifs. I guess I have to open the topic of my paper ââ¬Å"My Careerâ⬠with me in my teens because my life has turned direction several times since then. Originally I had my heart set on a football career. I was fairly good at it playing both offensive and defensive positions. Unfortunately the outside sources that changed my budding career involved a tractor on my Uncleââ¬â¢s farm one summer in my junior year. The tractor won and I lost some movement in my knee for about three years. Needless to say my career was over. A few years later I entered college and found a desire to become an oceanographer. I have always lived near the water and interested in the ocean, the life under it, and the secrets it holds. If I remember correctly the outside force that ended this career was my own failure in following some strict study habits. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute informed me that they accepted only 3.0 grade point average and above. Another outside force at this time was the draft a nd the Viet Nam War. I ended up entering the Navy and was sure that I had found the career of my lifetime. We will write a custom essay on Your Career specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now I had finally found a career where I excelled. I was happy, enjoyed the professionalism, the freedom and authority that I possessed. This new career fit well with my character and what I wanted to do with my life. I trained people, helped them, watched them succeed and grow. What more could I ask for, the military had a certain form of excitement not shared by any other profession in the world. The places I traveled if duplicated would take a lifetime of trying, the experience, the honor of serving my country, all with an adequate wage scale. The outside forces that ended this career path in the Navy would fill a volume. To keep this long story in perspective and within the confines of this assignment, it is easier to conclude that the Navy became a job and not an adventure. Three crashes, a divorce, and plethora of other smaller forces led to the decision to retire prematurely from the military and return to my home in Syracuse, New York where my family was. My family, the knowledge of the area, the need for some family psychological support led me back to Syracuse. After a few months of needed rest, I ventured into the job market, interviewed at a few places that either said I was over qualified or not qualified enough. I finally fell back on my electronics background and selected a position with a local Security Company repairing their systems, and installing them. During my interview process the interviewer indicated that my abilities would fit better with as a customer service representative or manager. They also held the carrot in front of me and said that when the positions became available they would call on me to fill one of them. A year passed with no advancement, no benefits, and no calls from the front office for these better jobs. I found myself looking for a better position in life. Still within the industry I selected a larger firm with benefits, higher rate of pay, and with the still promised positions of customer service or management. With this company they kept their word and called on me to fill a customer service position with in the first year there. My career in Security was starting in fashion and with a renewed sense of worth I excelled. I met their challenge and exceeded their expectations finishing what they had asked me to do in a record time frame but what where they going to do with me. The only logical solution they saw was to offer me a position as a sales representative. About five years later and with scores of achievements, I was called on to advance and offered a challenge with the position of Commercial Sales Manager. For five additional years with this organization I exceeded their requirements and Corporate goals. I trained my sales teams, teaching them the ways of selling, the products and the secrets of success. They met their goals bo th professionally and financially. My goals it seems for a time were beginning to falter with this organization. The outside forces were again at work in my life. The company looking at downsizing, the pay cuts and organizational changes had taken their toll. So eventually to satisfy my basic needs I looked for a position that offered more financial rewards to fulfill my obligation to my family. My fifth career began and ended in a blink of an eye compared to the cosmic evolution that had led me to this time and space. I left the Security industry to find my fame and fortune in the emerging telecommunications industry. The challenges of a new career, industry and position offered an exciting beginning at first. I found myself excelling despite the lingering feeling of being trapped in a no win situation. After six months of dealing with the feelings with a job that paid well but lacked the personal challenges that I needed, I went back to the Security and Fire Alarm Industry. Those amazing forces were at work again. They were not from outside this time, but from within. .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c , .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c .postImageUrl , .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c , .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c:hover , .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c:visited , .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c:active { border:0!important; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c:active , .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uc3ba8040bc845b2b46c5510519c7620c:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Man"s fundamental bewilderment and confusion, stems from the fact that man has no answers to the basic existential questions EssayI presently am in the second year of my sixth career. Employed at Simplex Time Recorder Co, Inc. I am responsible for the procurement, design and final presentation of fire and security systems to medium to large industrial type accounts. I also design for and develop Electrical Engineers to increase our market share in new construction applications. In addition to the product lines of Fire and Security I am responsible to provide design and selling of Access Control Systems, CCTV systems, Time Clock, Intercom, Phone and Integrated Systems Appli cations. Overall my position as I see it, is to help people to protect the property and personnel. I enjoy the thrill of seeking a client, designing a system that meets their needs both physically and financially and finally selling them on the idea. The opportunities within my profession are endless. Every business needs one form or another of what I have to offer. For Example, School systems need Fire alarms, Security, Intercom, Time Clocks. We provide other products to the School Systems because of the current affairs regarding the changing teen scene. CCTV, to watch perimeter grounds and building management systems with Access Control Systems to know who is in the building. To get to this level of selling, education and training contribute in a large part to my success factor. The education involves a lot of time and effort. Technical data on the various product lines consumes a large portion of your day to day job. Federal, State and Local Municipality construction codes need m ust be adhered to even put the pieces together correctly. My training in sales has involved hundreds of hours. Classes, seminars and self improvement tapes, along with many years of on the job training to get to the level of expertise that I now have. Then, once you have the clients interest in the project, and sold it, then you have paperwork so that the equipment can be ordered. Then you have the responsibility of project managing the job. This function of my career is very time consuming. I need to ensure that the proper equipment is ordered and in a time efficient manner delivered to the job site for the contractor to install. The contractor needs some technical assistance to ensure they know how to wire it, that they run the correct cable to meet our needs and that they are professional. Why would I need this for a customer that I just sold already? References for future projects and additional sales are the answer. Currently, I am tracking twenty jobs in progress and about thr ee million in presented quotations that are in one phase or another in their progression to become sales. Which of course means, money in my pocket. I have a salary of around $50K in addition to commissions that range between 4% to 12% of the equipment sold. The company offers health, dental and life insurance at a reduced rate. Simplex offers tuition assistance, expenses, car allowance, EAP, 401K, retirement programs, and a good working environment. I again find myself in the position of being promised with the carrot of a management position. This career I can see lasting between an additional 6-8 months waiting for their promise to fulfill itself. If not, I am sure that I will again look for another career. For another company within my industry or one outside that will utilize my leadership, training and organizational skills to help increase their market share and bottom line. Of course, my only requirement from them is a good compensation package. The Readers Digest version of my careers in only a few pages. The final chapter is not written yet and is still to come. Check for it in your grocery stores. I enjoy helping people, training them to realize their dreams and successes. However, there is a price for this knowledge. Paid to support my family in a life style that they feel is comfortable. I guess that as I have gotten older, my need for speed, excitement, and adventure as a driving force within my career has been replaced. My outside driving force is my family, my need to help them survive. My career rewards themselves spent on my familyââ¬â¢s education, marriages, and for my own retirement with my spouse. Am I happy with my own life and with the career paths I have been fortunate to see and succeed with? Yes! Would I do anything differently? Yes! If I did, would I be blessed with the wife and children that I presently have? I do not know. I do know that my career has been my life, the people I have helped along the w ay. My payment has been small, with the survival of my family. This fact I would not change for anything. Fate has been a mystical force in my life, and I thank it. .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 , .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 .postImageUrl , .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 , .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663:hover , .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663:visited , .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663:active { border:0!important; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663:active , .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663 .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uf757b7500d11aecdabb65081bc40a663:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Teen Suicide EssayBusiness Reports

Research Task 3 Essays
Research Task 3 Essays Research Task 3 Essay Research Task 3 Essay Research Task 3 Name: Institution: Research Task 3 With the Race to the Top Initiative (RT3), Georgia has currently adopted the Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES) for teacher evaluation. TKES is an evaluation system widely used for evaluating the effectiveness of teachers, which allows Georgia to evaluate the effectiveness of teachers across its districts on common grounds. This further allows comparability as well as consistency of teacher performance evaluation across the districts. The system has three components that include, ââ¬Å"Teacher Assessment on Performance Standards (TAPS), Surveys of Instructional Practice, and Student Growth and Academic Achievement,â⬠(Barge,2012). All the components are used collectively to achieve an overall measurement for teacher effectiveness. The purpose of using this system includes performance evaluation, hiring, pre-tenured retention, granting tenure, terminating teachers and promoting amongst others. Georgia is using TKES for evaluating the effectiveness of teachers in order to e nsure the best quality education (Georgia Department of Education, 2012). The process involves the use of the three components to evaluate the effectiveness of teachers. The first component is Teachers Assessment Performance Standards. This component provides a qualitative method of evaluation that uses rubrics to assess performance of the teacher according to laid performance standards. It uses performance appraisal rubrics that rate the performance of each teacher. The rubrics define the expectations and purposes of teachers, providing an effective instructional practice (Barge, 2012). The goal of this component is ensuring continuous development and growth of teachers through monitoring, analyzing as well as applying relevant data compiled through feedback. The other component is Student Growth and Academic Achievement consisting of a student value-added measurement. It makes use of student learning objectives and achievement growth measures identified by the district. The student learning objectives are determined at each district using the SMART criteria for setting objectives with specific content and measurable grading levels. Achievement of these objectives indicates the success of a teacher, hence exceptional performance. The teachers are further required to implement strategies aimed at achieving these objectives as well as monitoring student progress towards achievement of the set objectives (Georgia Department of Education, 2012). After assessment before the start and towards the end of a term, the teachers are required to submit Student Learning Objective Forms that are completed to the evaluators. From rubrics provided in the previous component, the teachers will be graded as either exemplary, proficient, needs development an d ineffective. The final component is the Surveys of Instructional Practice that requires students to report on items experienced directly. The questions used in these surveys will consist of questions addressing four performance standards of teacher within the TAPS component. These levels include instructional strategies, challenging academic environments and a positive learning environment. The students will respond to the questions on teacher performance from their experiences within the classroom. The surveys will make use of certified specialists to conduct the surveys that will then be graded to assess the effectiveness of each teacher. As aforementioned, evaluation of teachers or the TKES in Georgia has many purposes including termination of ineffective teachers (Barge, 2012). The main purpose of an evaluation is determining the effective and ineffective teachers. Those that are ineffective in every possible way would add no value to the students considering that student achievement is heavily dependent on the teacherââ¬â¢s competence. Using the TKES, the termination of a teacher will follow the usual legal and due process. However, the TKES will be used to determine teachers who are incompetent and ineffective. Upon their recognition and lack of improvement, the evaluators and other members involved are supposed to sermon the teacher for a hearing considering there are legal rights involved when it comes to termination including notice. Therefore, evaluation of a teacher using the TKES can as well act as a process of identifying teachers who can be terminated due to their incompetence. Georgia has adopted this method of evaluation in order to ensure improvement of student achievement. Each component of the TKES seeks to measure the effectiveness of a teacher. It is a known fact that teacher effectiveness is extremely crucial for student achievement. Improving school performance as well as making education reforms not only requires better facilities and curriculums, but also effective teachers to implement it (Barge, 2012). Therefore, Georgia is using the TKES to differentiate between effective and ineffective teachers with the aim of improving higher academic achievement levels in its students. References Barge, J. D. Music as the Most Important Factor in Life Essay
Music as the Most Important Factor in Life - Essay Example I feel that the beauty and richness that music brought into my life is definitely worth sharing. This is precisely why I think that visiting schools as an artistic ambassador would be a very good idea. I hope to bring some positivity and actually make a difference in the lives of students. I have already done something to that effect when I worked as an ambassador at a Boston school last year through From the Topââ¬â¢s Leadership program. The school had a music program but no chamber music, and this is where I came in ââ¬â I helped them experience chamber music under my guidance. When we discovered that the children were a little too serious throughout the program, we decided to change the plan for the week and only concentrate on entertaining them. It was really gratifying to see all the smiles that we brought to their faces while they played music. It was, perhaps, one of the most defining events of my life as a musician, and that is what gave me the incentive to be an art a dvocate and spread music and, thus, bring joy into peopleââ¬â¢s lives. The last century has seen the development of music on a linear scale in a positive direction. The adaption of modern musical instruments and equipment has not only changed the concept of composing music but has also altered the way people prefer to hear music (Shepherd 2-18). It has been really fascinating for me to learn how in the music culture of the past, folklore was used to tell stories of real life. As a music advocate, I wish to reinvent the same realism in my music. I would also like to motivate and train school children to use modern technology in their compositions. For instance, I have observed that listening to music on mobile phones has become a very common trend, and so has the trend of using various smart phone applications to enhance music. I would encourage students to take advantage of all this technology.

International relation theory Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
International relation theory - Essay Example While neo-realist theory contends the effect of state principles and capabilities for the international system, neo-liberalist theory emphasizes on a wider view of the international politics, focusing on the plurality of state actions including the economic and cultural aspects. Taking these two schools of thought for discussion, we bring out an analysis of which theoretical perspective provides the most plausible account of international politics, with particular reference to the films, Independence Day, and Lord of the Flies. The article examines how the international theories appear to be true on the movie and analyze whether the theory is portrayed in the film as normal or deviant from the world in it. According to Neo-realism, the international political structure is defined by the principle of anarchy, mentioning that there is no central authority of governance for the international system. Kenneth Waltz, regarded as the founder of Neo-realism, argues that, unlike the tradition al realism, the conduct of the states is determined by this structure of the international system. The states are inclined to be formally equal in the system and they act without subordinating to each other. The needs and abilities of a state determine their capabilities and power on the international system. ... Anarchy and self-preservation alone are not sufficient to explain the war of all against allâ⬠(Pechlivanis 2012). The international relation is shaped by the balance of power among the states, which is attained by the statesââ¬â¢ abilities to constrain to the relative powers for relative gains, through internal and external balancing. The great powers within the international system could be classified as the unipolar, bipolar and multipolar systems, owing to the number of powers contained in the system. According to neorealist, bipolar system would be a stable one as it is balanced through internal balancing alone, eliminating the need for external balancing. This is because there is no greater power to be formed from alliances and therefore lesser chance for great wars. On the other hand, Neoliberalism tends to view the international system from a wider perspective, demanding for a stronger state that promotes its interests. Unlike the neo-realism that views the state as a single entity, neo-liberalism includes plurality of its affairs. It focuses on security, integration of states and conflicting nature of the international politics in respect to the political economy and cooperation between the states. Neo-liberalism insists that states should have the goal of absolute gains rather than concerning about the relative gains for establishing power. The collaboration among the competitive states can be achieved in an anarchic international system with a rational decision and preferences of the states. Neo-liberalism contends that international institutions can successfully pave a way for the states to cooperate in the international system. ââ¬Å"Institutions exert a causal force on international relations, shaping state preferences and locking

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Cell Phone Essay In the world we live in today, everyone owns a cell phone. Whether it is pre-paid, contract, or a jitter bug they have it. Some are so easy to use while others might take a week or so to learn. Children as young as six or seven even own this very common form of technology. These things do almost everything. They have games, texting, GPS, MP3 players, and much more. Cell phones have many great advantages well as many disadvantages. As for me, the GPS on my cell phone is one major advantagee. By me traveling all over the place to attend many out of town church services, looking for hotels, and more my cell phone makes it so I will never get lost. Not only does the GPS on my cell phone tell me where to go, it also speaks back to me. Buying a cell phone with a GPS has saved me money by not having to by a navigation system. It is also easy and simple to use. I love the convenience of it too. Very often, I travel alone. If I have car problems my cell phone is there so I can call for help. Just last week my car broke down on a dark back road. Thank God I had my cell so I could have called for help. This awesome form of technology was put to use. Cell phones are always good to have when you leave the house or simply traveling alone. By my phone coming with a camera is also a great advantage. They save money and again I love the convenience of it. Just like a normal camera, you can print pictures out through your cell phone. Not only that, you can share them on Facebook or Twitter so everyone else could see. These cell phone cameras are not just any ole camera. Some are even better than the ones one would buy at a camera store. Sometimes we might want to search the internet and at the time we are away from a computer. Most cell phones today have internet access. We can check emails, shop, and everything else we can on the internet with a cell phone. I find this a big advance for those who love the internet. It can also cut off an internet bill at home. Like most things with many good advantages there are also disadvantages. One major disadvantage of a cell phone is texting while driving. Research proves that tons of people die every year as a result of texting while driving. I too find texting and driving very dangerous. It keeps your focus off the road. While driving, oneââ¬â¢s focus should be on the road at all times. It is always important for anyone to keep their focus on the road. Cell phones also can take ones attention off their studies. With all the things a cell phone has to offer, it is easy to get carried away with it. There are always new games and fun apps that one can find on their cell phone. The fact that these things are hand held and can go pretty much anywhere can get many students into trouble at school. It can also become a distraction for learning. While most teachers are teaching, many students wish to use there cell phones instead of taking notes or learning. Another common disadvantage of a cell phone is that it keeps you from seeing your friends and family face to face. With the text messaging and calling you can do on a cell phone cuts back the face to face talks with family and friends. Spending time with family and friends should be very important in a personââ¬â¢s life. With a cell phone it is very easy to send a text messages or call them instead of seeing them in person. One should practice less texting and talking on a cell phone and more face to face conversations. Over all, cell phones have many great advantages. They have GPS, camera, and are great for traveling. Also they have many bad disadvantages such as texting and driving, distracting students from their studies, cut away face to face time with family and friends. To me cells phone are great to have and seem to get better each day. As long as you are careful and mindful of the harm a cell phone can do, you will be good.

Code Of Hammurabi Essays -- History Babylon Essays Papers Ethics Soci
Code Of Hammurabi The people of ancient Babylon lived their lives not how they wanted to, but by "The Code of Hammurabi". The code was the major reflector and shaper in the ancient Babylonian society. If there was something they wanted to do, they had to make sure that it wasn't against the code, because if it was, the consequences were serious, and could mean their life. But without the code, their society would be much more uncivilized and inhumane. Without the code, they wouldn't have been as advanced and as knowledgeable as they were. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã The code of Hammurabi reflected many things about the Babylonian society. It reflects that stealing was a very bad thing to do, in more than one way. For example, if someone stole an ox, a sheep, an ass, a pig, or a ship, they would have to pay thirty times the value of what they had stolen, and if they could not repay, they would be put to death. If someone attempted to break into another person's house, they would be killed and buried there, and if a man took a slave and made it his, his hands would be cut off. Honesty was another thing that was very important to the Babylonians. If a woman was accused by her husband of sleeping with another man, and she can't prove that she hadn't, she had to throw herself in the river. This also shows that adultery was unacceptable. For example, if a man's wife were caught with another man, the two would be tied together and thrown in the river. Incest was also forbidden in their society. I...

The Golden Age Of Capitalism - 1022 Words
The decades following the Second World War, often referred as the ââ¬Å"Golden Age of Capitalism,â⬠brought an immeasurable amount of prosperity to the United States economy. Real GDP per capita grew at 2.25 percent per year, along with a large number of American citizens entering the middle class with the ability to enjoy benefits from rising wages and home ownership (Palley 1). It seemed as though there would be no end to this post-war economic boom; however, the ââ¬Å"Golden Age of Capitalismâ⬠would abruptly end at the onset of the seventies with a variety of factors contributing to economic downturn. The lengthy expansion during the sixties was brought to end due to rising inflation, with the annual consumer price inflation up to six percentâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Inflation continued to remain as an issue, not falling nearly as advisers expected (Madrick 58). Martin was fired by President Nixon, after refusing to play with politics throughout his tenure as Fed eral Reserve Chairman. In November of 1970, Arthur F. Burns was appointed by Nixon to succeed Martin (Abrams 177). Although qualified, Burns would soon be subjected to orders from Nixon, who wanted to resolve the inflation issue and make the economy seem strong to voters in the upcoming re-election (Bresiger 1). In order to counter stagflation, Nixon began to implement a series of economic measures known as the Nixon shock. Nixon first suspended the convertibility of dollars to gold and officially closed the gold window. This would cause the American dollar to devalue, stimulating American exports as a result but further contributing to inflation with increase prices on imports. Nixonââ¬â¢s second measure was to impose a wage-price freeze over a period of ninety days, which restrained inflation and allowing most prices to remain constant (Madrick 59). With inflation temporarily under control, Nixon began implementing an expansionary policy to stimulate the economy out of a recession. Nixon began raising Social Security benefits, increasing business tax credits on business investment, and reducing personal tax rates for individuals. Burns pushed for a lower interest rate, decreasing from 5.5 percent to 3.25 percent (Madrick
